Vermeer Eemhaven

Back to basics

For decades, Vermeer Eemhaven International in Rotterdam was a successfully operated family business in the market for oil and gas equipment. A large project with lots of contractual and technical challenges put the company into financial trouble. A financial injection and a thorough refocus were due.

It soon became clear that Vermeer Eemhaven was involved in so many different products, companies and activities that their core specialism – the production of heat exchangers – was somewhat neglected. Key factor for a changing tide was the return of manager Paul Blonk in his formal position as the organizational and commercial flywheel of the business. The company soon regained its former brilliance and costumers again found their way to Rotterdam.

For about six months a technical manager from Nimbus was put in charge of the process timing and the monitoring of the production. Vermeer Eemhaven is now ‘Specialist in heat exchangers’ and the future looks bright. Their craftsmanship is second to none; geographically their location is spot on and with new orders from customers in Asia, Africa and Scandinavia the ambition to grow further remains ever present.
